1984 Girls Cross Country Team

This was not the type of team where you could point to any one superstar. On the way to their perfect 13-0 record, the Lady Eagles placed three members of this unit, senior Bernadette Mulligan, junior Danielle McManus, and freshman Jackie McMillian- on the first-team All-South Jersey team and an additional five runners, Missy McNally, Nancy Knoll, Susan Murphy, Stacy Smith and Lauren Bello, on the honorable mention list.

This team’s domination is best underlined by their performance in the Olympic Conference championship meet where McMillian and McManus finished 1-2 while five other runners were in the top 10. Their performance in the South Jersey Parochial Championships was just as impressive as McManus, first, McMillian, second, Mulligan, fourth, McNally, fifth, Knoll, sixth, Murphy, eighth, and Smith, ninth, all recorded top ten finishes.

This talented group of athletes then went on to win the State Parochial Title where Paul VI’s top six girls finished 33 seconds apart leading Coach Mike Busarello’s team to the crown.
