The mission of Paul VI High School, a Catholic co-educational college preparatory school in the Diocese of Camden, is to call students to open their minds and hearts to the truth, to be enlightened and transformed by it, and to proclaim it through word and deed in an ever-changing world. Paul VI High School provides an education that motivates students to actualize their potential through participation in a broad, balanced and relevant educational experience.
Paul VI, a high school within the Diocese of Camden, inspired by the Catholic ideal, is committed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to the spiritual, intellectual, physical and social development of its students. As a Catholic school, we have the responsibility to prepare our students for the contemporary world guided by the light of faith. We offer students the opportunity to learn, live, and worship as active members of a Catholic community.
The faculty of Paul VI, as a part of this Catholic community, is expected to teach within the framework of the Catholic faith, especially guided by the Catechism of the Catholic Church. They are to express an integrated approach to learning and living in both their personal and professional lives. This integrated approach to learning and living manifests itself in an atmosphere of respect, discipline, genuine concern, mutual trust and understanding. Within this framework, both students and faculty are able to share creativity, search for meaning and more fully comprehend the values of life revealed by our Savior, Jesus Christ.
The total development of the individual occurs only in an environment of freedom and challenge concomitant with personal responsibility. It is essential, therefore, that during the formative years the school gradually develops personal responsibility in a student by gradually increasing the student’s freedom. It is only through this responsible freedom that the school can expect a Catholic influence to permeate the student body. The contemporary world increasingly distances itself from faith and the values that God has revealed to us.
Paul VI High School is a place where faith, obedience to God’s eternal laws, academic excellence, physical soundness, social concern, discipline that fosters freedom with responsibility, and respect for life, points administration, faculty and students toward the same goal: the pursuit of truth and excellence.
