1984 Boys Cross Country Team

The 1984 Paul VI Boys Cross Country Team had one of the greatest seasons of any team in South Jersey history. The team, coming off a 1983 season that saw them go undefeated in South Jersey and win the Parochial A state meet, was returning most of their runners from the previous year. The Parochial A state meet pitted Paul VI against their rival CBA and for the second year in a row, Paul VI came out victorious with a winning score of 25 points.

The following most anticipated meet was the Meet of Champions where the team battled and ultimately sealed the victory. The Paul VI team won every meet they entered and finished first in the state. They had four runners make first-team All-South Jersey, including Ron Faith, Chris Hageman, Tom Metzger, and George Steinhoff, and an additional four runners, Tom Donnelly, Sean Fallon, Rich Stallings, and John Wolfram, on the honorable mention list.

Coach Mike Glavin was named the South Jersey and State Coach of the Year, and the team was ranked #3 in the country by Harrier Magazine.
